Psalm 34:8

I was reminded by a friend today of a wonderful choral setting of Psalm 34:8, one of my favorite verses. Vaughan Williams' composition for the verse was first performed at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

O taste and see how gracious the LORD is:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Ralph Vaughan Williams, O Taste and See:

I also very much like the earlier setting by John Goss [1800-1880], which I know from this CD, Ave Verum: Favourite Parish Anthems. I haven't found a completely satisfactory recording of that one online. This terminates early but gives an almost complete performance: http://www.esoc-chorus.de/sound/tasteandsee.mp3
