I don't think we can be catogorized either way. Our Statement of Belief doesn't state of position, and I certainly don't subscribe to the 5 points of Calvinism.
I would interested to hear how many SDB's would agree that we are Calvinistic. I think they've misunderstood the history there. There were both regular and particular Baptists among the first English churches...so even our earliest history seems to disprove the notion that we are Calvinists.
On the issue of Calvinism: I've come to think that the issue between predestinarians and adherents of "free will" must be a false issue. Both seem to find support in Scripture. Since I don't believe God contradicts Himself, isn't it likely that the issue is beyond human comprehension - one of those theological mysteries that are mysterious only because our instrument of understanding is inadequate?
