Otto Penzler has been counting down his selection of the best 106 crime films of all time. The full list is
here. Today he finally reaches #1:
"The Greatest Crime Film of All-Time: The Third Man." Lists like this are fun and fun to argue about. I have no quarrel with his choice. It is a very good film and eminently re-watchable. If you've never seen it I would recommend the British version which is a few minutes longer. If you've never seen it don't read Penzler before you do — he summarizes the entire plot.
