Some days I find altogether too many good posts on other sites to quote from all of them. This is one of those days. Four things I've read today that you might find profitable too:
- Keven DeYoung on formal church membership: "Why Membership Matters."
- Trevin Wax responds to a theological student who asks "Why Should I Believe in Original Sin?"
- "Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ" at Ignatius Insight Scoop is about St Jerome, whose feast day is today on the Roman calendar. The title of the post is a quotation from Jerome and much of what is found here quotes from Pope Benedict on Jerome.
- And Russel Moore on "Is a Deacon Just a Servant?"
There’s an entire generation of conservative evangelical churches where one would be more likely to find an unfrozen caveman in the congregation than a biblically-functioning deacon.
